I am so at peace that I no longer have to work at a corporate job that I eventually came to dread. Still I can say I met a lot of great people through those years. So many of us are in jobs that we don’t have to stay stuck in. For me it became important to acknowledge how I truly felt from day to day. Staying at a job that may have worked in a particular season of our lives doesn’t mean that it will work for us in the next season. Some jobs should only be a stepping stones to greater opportunities.. Important questions that we should ask and be honest about can help determine if its time to make a move.
Do you dread waking up in the morning to have to get ready for work? Are you always wanting to leave work early and not finish your workday? Are you no longer caring about getting to work on time? Are you longing to do other things whether its starting your own business or other hobbies that you no longer have the time or motivation for? Oh and last but not least. Are you tired of hearing other coworkers complain? These are all major signs that we need to adhere to that it’s time to make a change or be forced to make one. What’s a pay raise or a promotion when you are still tired and worn out mentally and physically? The job market has drastically changed since the pandemic and people are really opting for wellness over pay more than ever now. If you’re on this journey I salute you. Cheers to choosing and putting you first and only looking back to see how far you’ve come.
