Trusting God For a New Season
“Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?” – Isaiah 43:19
For the last few months, I’ve been wearing faux locs- a style I’ve loved for it’s convenience and beauty. But recently, I’ve felt God calling me to make a fresh start. I wanted to see me again -my natural hair, my natural beauty, and trust him as I stepped into this new season.
I’ve been on my natural hair journey for almost eight years but i’ve spent alot of that time in protective styles like braids and locs. They served their purpose but this time felt different. I knew I needed to let go of what was familiar. As I sat in the chair and saw my fresh hair cut, I felt a weight lift off me. It wasn’t about changing my look- it was about stepping into what God was doing in me.
Letting Go to Trust God’s Plan
This experience reminded me that God sometimes calls us to let go of what feels comfortable. Whether it’s a hairstyle, a routine, or a mindset, he ask us to release the old so he can bring something new and refreshing into our lives. Letting go isn’t always easy. Maybe you’ve been holding onto something because it feels safe, even if it no longer serves you. But when we step out in faith, God meets us there. He shows us that the act of surrender is where growth happens.

For me, a simple natural hair transformation turned into a reminder of God’s faithfulness. It showed me how small changes can lead to big shifts when we lean on him.
