As you know October is breast cancer awareness month. I’ve been getting mammograms since I turned 40 and for some reason I get a bit more concerned as I get older as it becomes time for my yearly mammogram screening. I do make sure that I do my self breast exams but I always feel that I don’t quite do them correctly. Some personal changes that I’ve made over the past couple of years is only using natural products down from the bath soap to the deodorant. I’ve been using natural products for about 5 years now that seem to work really well. One great product that I love to use is Native. Alcohol can also increase your chance of getting breast cancer. I have cut down on my weekly wine consumption. I only have a glass once if twice a week and that’s only in moderation. Who doesn’t enjoy a glass of red wine but now I only drink organic red wine since it doesn’t flare up my acid reflux. I usually go to Sprouts or Wholefoods when I’m looking for more great organic options. I am also making sure that I stay active and eat healthier. There are some days that I don’t get it right but I do manage to get back on track. It’s important that we stay on top of our health ladies and get those preventative yearly checkups on time! We all deserve to be well.
