While on my morning walk this week God kept reminding me about the word spiritual inheritance. I’ve come to learn that whatever we worship more than Christ is sure to become our idol. Renewing our minds daily in the word of God can keep us from becoming caught off guard or easily swayed. Money, status, fame, nor achievements can buy it, nor the number of followers we accumulate on social media. Our true identity and inheritance is found in Jesus alone. It’s through having a personal relationship with him that we find our true identity which re-assures us that we will have an eternal inheritance.
Daily we are storing it up by how we live and represent Christ. By how we love and treat others regardless of our political preferences or disagreements. The way this world has been acting up lately really makes me want to continue to keep my focus more on that. Colossians 3:2-3 confirms that we should set our minds on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. We know quite well that the things that are on the earth are drying up and will soon pass away. My question to you is what are you storing up? We’re all on our individual journey together and I’d love to know.
