Accountability, Sisterhood, and Spiritual Growth

In a world where isolation often feels easier than connection, the power of sisterhood and accountability can be life-changing.  I recently attending the Renew Retreat & Conference at The Inn at Serenbe,  and it was a transformative experience, reminding me that true healing happens in community.  Surrounded by Christ-centered women, we came together in a powerful display of vulnerability, honesty, and spiritual growth. The beauty of this retreat wasn’t just in the lavish gift bags received or the serene natural surroundings, but in the connections that were formed, the accountability that was offered, and the spiritual breakthroughs that took place.

A day before the  retreat began there was a special moment of gathering, prayer and preparation.  As part of the Renew Retreat Committee, I had the joy of connecting with my sisters from ManifestHERdaily to help prepare for the weekend.  We gathered together, filling beautiful gift bags, and sharing in the excitement of what was to come. It wasn’t just the logistics that made it special, but the sisterhood we built in that intimate setting. It was a reminder that we aren’t meant to journey alone especially when it comes to our spiritual growth.

One of the greatest takeaways from the retreat was the importance of accountability and holding space for each other. During our breakout sessions and circle meetings, it became clear that we all carry burdens, but we are stronger when we carry them together. The women I met – some of whom were broken and seeking healing-were able to release their pain in a supportive Christ-centered environment.  Healing in isolation simply isn’t possible.  We were created for community, to hold one another up in our moments of weakness and to celebrate in moments of triumph.

As the circle lead I had the opportunity to meet members of my circle for the first time in person. Sisterhood isn’t just about friendship; it’s about deep Christ-like relationships that help us become the women God has called us to be.  As we  move forward from the Renew Retreat we are committed to staying connected, continuing to support one another, and nurturing our growth together.

During our first morning Miracle Meditation on the meadow, hosted by Erin Marie, we gathered surrounded by beautiful  affirmations, creating a serene atmosphere that set the tone for our time together.  This moment was such a profound spiritual experience, filled with joy and connection.  Following our meditation, we gathered for for a beautiful communion ceremony, which was such a sacred moment that deepened our bond as sisters in Christ. We were all gifted stunning dresses from Tracy Nicole’s clothing brand, which made our gathering even more special.

As I reflect on this retreat, I am filled with gratitude for the connections we’ve made and the spiritual growth we continue to nurture together. If you found inspiration in our journey at the Renew Retreat, I encourage you to consider attending future retreats or getting involved in local faith-based groups.  These experiences offer incredible opportunities for growth, connection, and sisterhood.  Together, we can support one another in our faith journeys, uplift each other through shared experiences, and cultivate a deeper understanding of God’s presence in our lives.

As we reflect on the power of community and connection, let us remember this scripture-

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor.  If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them. – Ecclesiastes 4: 9-10 NIV
