A few of my life group members and I attended the Fervent Tour in Atlanta this weekend.  Hosted by speaker and author Priscilla Shirer and her brother Anthony Evans.  It was truly a night of coming together in prayer and worship.   Priscilla gave such a profound prophetic message while making her way up through the isle.  It literally felt like God was walking beside her in all of his glory.  You could feel his presence and power in the building.  She even prayed over all the singles and yes I stood up boldly.  What a blessed night it was.  Now enough about all that.

Can I share something with you?  I am learning to be more intentional about the spaces and community that I feel myself being lead to connect to.  We all need a Tribe and long for sisterhood.   Michelle Obama talked heavily about having her own in her latest book The Light We Carry.  With social media at our finger tips it’s easier to become swayed let alone swindled.  Yes I’ve seen the movie the Tinder Swindler.  Talk about crazy!  Furthermore if  we’re not careful we could easily be persuaded into right and almost right.  Yes a particular community may have a huge follower presence, be global  and even profess some of the true things of God, but there could be no real spiritual connection. God could be no where in it.

However, If Christ alone is in you then you’ll  be able to discern that his presence is there.   If  it’s not the Holy Spirit will give you that conviction.  That conviction only comes through spiritual maturity and growth over time.  I use to push this conviction right under the rug but it would soon come tugging back at me.  It takes courage to die daily but trust that you’ll know.  Here are a few scriptures that I think will help you in your decision making of finding your true Tribe community.

Proverbs 27:17  As Iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

Matthew 18:20  For where two or three  gather in my name, there am I with them.

Romans 12:5  So in Christ we though many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.

1 Corinthians 13:4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

Matthew 6:24 No one can serve two masters.  Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other.  You cannot serve both God and money.

Matthew 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits.
